In the aftermath of the Democratic National Convention, the Uncommitted Movement has crashed on the shores of the Democratic Party. Despite protests and protest votes, there is no commitment to an arms embargo and not even a pro-Palestine speaker was allowed space at the convention. Seemingly, the party is willing to risk its own election loss while it continues to arm Israel’s genocide.
But why? Some argue the Israeli lobby is all powerful, and that’s why Biden and Harris are accomplices in crimes against humanity. Some reformists still hold fast to the idea the Left can transform the Democratic Party, despite Uncommitted’s results. Revolutionary communists in Firebrand reject both ideas.
